Overview
The client-facing app where people bring in their crypto for a source-of-wealth review: exchange accounts and wallets from 100+ exchanges and 150+ blockchains, by API or CSV, or from crypto tax calculators. I designed and built it.
- A step-by-step flow, so people focus on one thing at a time.
- Exchange accounts, wallets and DeFi activity from 100+ exchanges and 150+ blockchains, by API or CSV.
- Imports from crypto tax calculators, so nobody has to rebuild their history.
- And more proprietary features I can't share publicly.
How I built it
Part of our pnpm, Turborepo and Vite monorepo, on the same stack as the rest of ChainComply's apps. I built it in React and TypeScript: the flows for connecting exchange accounts and wallets by API or CSV, and for importing data from crypto tax calculators. I designed it too: low- and high-fidelity wireframes on paper, in Figma or in Miro, quick proofs of concept in StackBlitz, then the final design in code.
Product decisions
The problem
Connect was the only way to bring data into a case, and it was hard to follow: it asked for a lot at once, and analysts and their clients weren't sure what it was for.
What I changed
One step at a time. I redesigned it as a simple multi-step flow, so clients focus on one thing at a time.
Analysts enter data in the workspace. Analysts were using Connect to add data on their clients' behalf. They can now do it inside the Analyst Workspace, without switching apps.
My role
I made the product decisions, redesigned the UX and UI myself, and built it.
