If you allow it, Google Analytics records how the site is used: which pages are visited, roughly where visitors come from, and what device and browser they use. It sets cookies (named _ga) to recognise returning visitors. I use it only to see how people find and use the site.

It doesn’t run until you click Allow, and you can switch it off any time with Cookie settings at the bottom of every page. Switching it off deletes its cookies.

When you send a message, I receive your message, your email address and, if you give it, your name, so I can reply. A copy is kept in the site’s database, and the email reaches me through Resend.

Cloudflare Turnstile checks that a person, not a bot, is sending; it looks at your browser to do that. To stop anyone sending too many messages, the site keeps a scrambled (hashed) form of your IP address, never the address itself.

Signing in with GitHub or Google gives the site your name, email address and profile picture. Only your name and picture are shown next to your message, and only after I approve it. You can delete your own messages, and I can delete your account and everything you posted if you ask.

Your theme (light or dark) and your analytics choice are remembered in your browser’s storage. They never leave your device.
